A former contestant who appeared on Take Me Out has lifted the lid on her experience when she was invited back for the celebrity version of the show in 2016.
Jodie Carnall, from Leicester, originally went to the Isle of Fernando’s after she was chosen by Tom, but sparks didn’t fly between the pair.
After returning to the ITV dating show for its celebrity version, she later bagged herself a date with podcast host and television presenter Roman Kemp.
Speaking on behalf of the new online bingo brand Zingo Bingo, Jodie revealed whether she kept in touch with Roman following their date in London. She also spilled what he was really like off-camera and whether she thinks the show could ever return in 2026.

What was going on a date with Roman Kemp like?
He was lovely. I think the fact that he just got me, he liked my personality. He was very reassuring as well because he's used to filming. I would have dated him again.
Did you keep in touch with him?
We did keep in touch for a little bit. I would have liked to have seen him again. It was an activity date and he was just so nice and reassuring.
When you were on the celebrity version, did you feel a lot more confident?
Yes, I felt more confident. I think by then maybe I'd have got my lips done. I felt a lot better for the Roman Kemp one, because I've done it once before. Also the fact that he was just so nice and reassuring. It made it more fun instead of nerve-wracking.
Do you think the show would work in 2026?
Yes, I think it's needed now more than ever. It's impossible to find a relationship in this generation. Nobody makes an effort anymore. I'd rather give my time to someone in person than just text. It’s such a shame it’s now stopped. It was so much fun.
If the show did return, who do you think should host it?
Wouldn't it be funny if Roman did it? But, Paddy is the original host.
What did your friends and family think when they found out you went on the show?
They loved it. They said, ‘Oh my God, I can't believe you've been on Take Me Out. Wow, you're famous.’ I wish, but no, I've just gone on a dating show, gone on a date and now I'm back to my 9 to 5 job. It was very difficult having a taste of that life. I loved it so, so much.
