Cheryl’s Big Comeback: PR Expert Predicts a ‘Digital-First’ Return to Music

Pop icon Cheryl has sent fans into a frenzy after she announced she’s making a return to the spotlight on The Voice UK as part of the judging panel.

The star has also partnered with food delivery service Deliveroo, starring in their playful new advert.

A PR expert has now weighed in on what could be next for Cheryl, describing the potential of her comeback to be ‘one of the biggest solo revivals of all time’.

Speaking to Zingo Bingo, Kayley also predicts that Cheryl could be set to bank in millions from her comeback, suggests the star could revive her solo music career, and outlines what steps she needs to take next in order for her to be successful.

Speaking to Zingo Bingo, celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius said:

“It seems to me that this is only the beginning for Cheryl, and she could be gearing up for one of the biggest solo revivals of all time.  For years, she had been strongly tied to Girls Aloud, and although this has established her as one of the UK’s most loved pop stars, I believe this next stage of her career will be one in which she both returns to her old, iconic self and creates new opportunities for herself. Playing into nostalgia is already shaping up to be a big part of her comeback strategy, with her latest campaign with Deliveroo tapping into one of her most iconic one-liners.

“Endorsements as such have the capacity to pay up to seven-figures, particularly if this is part of a longer-term partnership with the brand. Her return to The Voice will undoubtedly pull the fans back in, which is a win-win scenario for both Cheryl and the show. While it’s not quite The X Factor, I can imagine it will still draw in viewers and give her the platform to remind her fans why they loved her in the first place. When it comes to Cheryl, in the long run, I think that she might be planning on restarting her solo career to put it on the map once again.

“You have to remember that the music industry has changed drastically since Cheryl first entered the scene, so the way to achieve this may be to take a digital first approach. Cheryl doesn’t need to introduce herself to most people, but if she wants to get to a new audience she will have to meet them where they are. Appearances on the likes of Saving Grace and We Need to Talk podcasts are ideal ways for her to reach that audience, while she also shows the OG fans a little more of her personality, which will be vital if she is planning a new solo album and tour. I think it’s fair to say that if she can make inroads with this new market, she could become even more valuable both commercially and as an artist!”
